Combat Style: Close Quarters Specialist; Cyrus is most comfortable when dueling opponents within their 'bubble', leveraging the mechanical performance of his machine against the unprepared. Having spent years defending a small community of Side 2 colonies from pirate activity, he has learned to rely less on pre-programmed melee routines, and more on improvisation and real-world sword technique. Cyrus prefers to wait for an opponent to approach, favoring a strong defense and punishing the enemy's mistakes; for this reason, he has become adept at avoiding ranged weapons fire from a single source, but becomes less effective when defending against incoming fire from multiple directions.
Appearance: At only five-foot-ten with a slim, wiry build, Cyrus is by no means physically imposing. His attire is often semi-casual, with weather-appropriate trousers and a variety of vests worn over dress shirts. His sleeves are always rolled up, his collar always unbuttoned, and he wears no accessories or jewelry. His skin has a little more color in it than the average colonial citizen, his hair is cut ear-length and trained to stay styled back with a palm full of water, and his eyes glisten like Dominican Amber. His features could be considered 'hawkish', and he has 'a bit of a nose', but he does not look so intense as to be unapproachable.
Personality: At times both austere and driven, and at others relaxed and mercurial, Cyrus knows when to work and when to play. He is casually blunt, saying what comes to mind with very little filtration, but he can make conversation with virtually anyone, be they senior statesmen or drugged-out urchins. His dislike for the politicking of the earth and organized space is readily known to those he's done business with, as he finds such power plays to be invasive and disruptive to the common man. Even moreso, he feels the organized governments have done little to help the tenuous situations in Sides 2 and 5, where freelancers like himself have been forced to do all the heavy lifting. This is tangential to his only emotional weakness; his family on New Seychelles.
Biography: Cyrus is the only son of a shipping magnate and a state librarian, a child of the pre-Cataclysm Solar Era. Born on the road in Berkshire, England, Cyrus spent most of his childhood traveling with his parents a his father attended to the fledgling Adler shipping empire, which expanded across Europe and well into the Middle East. The family home was in Peloponnese, a luxury they could only afford in the post-Cataclysm economy when the Mediterranean was being devastated by wars of unification. Due to the fragile geopolitical situation across Europe, Cyrus's father employed a private security team armed with several Mobile Suits. These metal giants would often leave a young Cyrus transfixed, especially the aerial finesse of the Delta Plus piloted by the team's leader, Big Bird.
Against his mother's wishes, Cyrus absorbed the in's and out's of MS operation from Big Bird and his subordinates, and was later given a customized Union Flag as a begrudging gift from his father. Cyrus informally joined Big Bird's team at age seventeen, and was at first forbidden from leaving the vicinity of his parents's private train. In time, his father would bring him along as his private guard on business trips, in an attempt to sway Cyrus's interests back towards learning and inheriting the family business, but infrequent trips to outer space and the colonies of Side 2 would keep Cyrus's attentions elsewhere.
Shortly after entering adulthood, both of Cyrus's parents would die of natural causes. Adler Trans-continental Freight came under the joint ownership of its trustees, and Cyrus was granted a monthly stipend. Big Bird and his team would leave for adventures elsewhere, and Cyrus abandoned the earth to start a new life as a freelancer in space. Over the next decade, he fell in love with a New-Age-green-child-turned-botanist, Keight Walsh, and the pair conceived a son, Petre. Pirate attacks across the shoal zones of Side 2 demanded Cyrus's constant attention, putting an unending strain on his relationship with the mother of his only child. Cyrus felt it was ultimately more important to protect the lives of his family even if it came at the cost of alienating them, and ultimately became something of an absentee father as the work of a Pirate Killer dragged him all across Side 2's limping Bunches. The relationships have never been fully mended, but his son still idolizes him unconditionally, and his former lover has never fully snuffed the flame she carries for Cyrus.
After pulling a few tricks for the Vexnal Consortium, and becoming briefly entangled in Lance Screamer's efforts to isolate and purge colonies that had succumbed to a strange organic infection, Cyrus prepares to re-enter the fold as the Frontier Commonwealth seeks to aggressively expand itself into his backyard.
