Technical Notes: A fully upgraded and up-to-date Physalis, featuring a psycommu system and standard armament. In its base mode it is no longer capable of equipping the nuclear bazooka, and the massive shield has been done away with. A core fighter system and separable components have been added, as well. To top it off, it is capable of docking with a psycommu controlled mobile armour. This can give the unit its nuclear payload back, but is typically armed with an utterly devastating mega beam smartgun. This smartgun requires several seconds of charging time. It also features a large, flexible shield system that stores extra weaponry and an I-Field in the nose. The Solanaceae is capable of taking any variation of this equipment: two shoulder shields, two mega beam smartguns (though this is virtually impossible to power, even with the Solanaceae's extra one) or even two nuclear bazookas (which leaves the Physalis with no protection against the blast, though this is unnecessary in space). Though it is quite sluggish (albeit with decent linear acceleration), an I-Field generator and the large shield provides ample protection against all manner of attacks. However, a power deficiency as well as cooling problems means that the I-Field cannot be used continuously, requiring it to turn off and cool down/recharge frequently.
Three units were produced, and as testing went on it was decided that two of them were to be slave units to a single, piloted one. They are all functionally identical, capable of equipping all the same armament, though there is only one Solanaceae armour available. The other two units are capable of being manned, as well. They can swap their corefighters or pieces on the fly. Optional parts designed as updated versions of the other GP series' units are on the drawing board as options down the road, creating a small independent taskforce to work in unison as the original GP design intended, capable of covering each others weaknesses and covering the delivery of a strategic warhead/beam cannon strike.
