4 Hours after the Battle of Side 2, Pegasus Class (Blanc Rival refit) Charlegmane, near Luna
Side 2 was something Captain Varden Brousse wasn't expecting. Not a fight on that scale, and the crew was somber, battered and torn. As the man walked, limping through the long, dimly light hallway towards the medical bay, his mind was on it's sole remaining pilot. Warrant Officer Florus St-Jacques. After his refusal to come back, a battered GN-XIII had come back hauling the remains of St-Jacques's Sword Calamity.
By the time they had managed to crack open the cockpit of the machine, Florus St-Jacques was in bad shape. Deep lacerations across his upper legs and stomach from where the monitors had cracked and exploded inside, his head had a gash from where it slammed into one of those side monitors and he had been stabbed almost clean through his left lung with a large piece of glass.
Captain Brousse knocked twice before the door opened, Doctor Milena Pavic, a woman of 45 staring at him with her tired green eyes. "How can I help you Captain? Come to check on my patient?" That drew a nod from his head and slowly he'd slide into the room. He could hear the machines beeping from the entryway, and his gaze shifted towards the far room. The curtains had been drawn and with a sigh, Doctor Pavic opened them just enough as she began to speak. "He's still alive, barely, flat lined twice already and took all the oh positive blood I had. I've contacted Doctor Brownwell at Artemis City, they're going to be waiting when we arrive to take Florus. Already scheduled to get a bionic lung, and if we're lucky..should be up and around in a few weeks."
For a moment, Varden Brousse smiled. He was in the same spot as Florus, he barely survived the Battle of Luna, and also flat lined twice before being revived. At least he'd have that in common with the man, still, losing all the mobile suit pilots had been a horrible blow to the ship. The loss of five of the six pilots was going to weigh on the Captain. However, he was distracted from thought by the crackling of the speaker overhead.
"Captain Brousse, there's an incoming call from Luna from a General Young, it's urgent.."
General Young? Interesting. Still, Captain Brousse was impressed by Florus, he would have made for a good soldier for the Garde. Fought like the devil for the Union, and nearly gave his life. Damned those short sighted fools. They were the best of the Union, and what were they now? Trash? Disgraceful.
