Josephine looked down at the table, sitting rigidly and attentive. She wanted to know the answer, but not if it meant spoiling the evening beyond what could constitute friendly conversation. Her eyes searched his face when he spoke, and smiled a little at the endearing shift in his features to that timidity she was so unused to seeing cross his features. Her eyes dipped down to his lips when he moved forward, brushing against his before she turned her head, suddenly shy.

"I think... I think that I would like to know you better."

She said it carefully. As an enlisted officer in the CEU she did not have time for dalliances such as these, yet she was not going to cut herself off from the experience at Caroline's suggestion just because of her mission. There was a lot to do, and she would have time to see Florus again, surely, if he truly liked her.

Truthful and honest words fell from Florus's carefully formed mouth as his grey eyes peeled away from Josephine's beautiful face. He had to decide what to say, something cheesy and false, or just let it all out right here. Jesus, Florus would rather face down that newtype again than face this, why was it difficult? Something about opening up and letting it out, regardless of what may happen was a thing he didn't like. So, Florus gave a light shrug of his shoulders before he set his menu down in front of him, "Well.."

Florus St-Jacques let it hang there before he'd look at Josephine's eyes, "..I don't know, ever since my eyes first fell on you, I'm drawn to you." Briefly those eyes dipped down and away from Josephine, due to Florus's own mixed feelings of embarrassment shyness. At least towards this one subject, Jesus, he wasn't about to tell Josephine he was falling for her head over heels..was he?

Florus could see himself doing that, but yet his mind lingered back to the taste of her mouth against his..and that's when it dawned on him. This was more than a passing feeling, so the voice in the back of his mind said anyways. "I feel like a moth, and you're the flame. I'm drawn to you, because I felt something when we had that simulator fight Josephine." Now, those grey eyes looked back at her as Florus's left hand shifted, his thumb nervously thumbing slowly against the edge of the table, "Something I've never felt before, Chemistry? Is that it?" Sitting up from his chair, Florus would bend partly over the table as the man shifted his left hand. Seeking to brush his fingers along the back of Josephine's head as the Union pilot went to kiss the woman slowly, albeit with a whisper.

"I won't push you into anything more than a kiss, Josephine."

She flashed a lovely smile to Florus, deciding to take his words at face value, even as she squirmed in her seat at his double entendre. She remembered the car, her shameful behaviour, it brought a furious pink to her cheeks she was desperate to fight. She shouldn't do things like that on the first date, should she, she was certain he knew that too... right? Did he think she was lose now, guided by lust for a famous hero, against the opinion of her sisters? She hoped not, for it would embarrass her greatly, to think of shaming herself not only in front of her sisters but him as well. She picked up the menu with delicate fingers, her hands shaking slightly. There was no need to be flustered. It was only dinner. Only... dinner. Right? Right.

"A-Alright, then," She said quietly, "If you don't mind..."

She scanned the menu carefully before placing their order, her attention once more turning to Florus. She looked up at him, feeling the blush rise in her cheeks, asking the question that had been plaguing her since she first received his call.

"Why... why did you ask me here?" she asked quietly. She knew it was a date, obviously, but surely his superiors wouldn't approve of this. They had only just met, and she couldn't help but feel all of this was a little... fast. Odd. She looked to the side, unsure.

Florus had to do a mental check to make sure he wasn't dreaming. Nah, not dreaming, so why not push it a bit? So, as Josephine continued to speak, with that slight tremble, Florus made no attempt to hide the face he was watching her. Her mouth to be precise, Grey eyes looking, taking in the very shape of Josephine's mouth and Florus briefly looked up to her eyes. "Yeah? It was the only place I thought of when you agreed to go out with me tonight. Something beautiful, for a beautiful lady." It was true, and Florus St-Jacques thought it was a shame they were here instead of somewhere a bit more private.

"You know, the dishes they serve here are good.." Florus thought about it for a moment, but the man let his eyes wander, back down to Josephine's perfectly shaped mouth. Down her neck as he'd briefly catch his bottom lip between his upper and lower teeth before letting go as he began to speak. "..However, there's something else I'd much rather eat." His lips shifted, moving to flash a smirk before a grin began to etch it's way over Florus St-Jacques's half sicilian, half french face.

That being said, the man looked back back at Josephine. Jesus, what was it about her? It made him feel...not like himself. He wanted to be near her, or with her physically all the time. Inwardly it made Florus St-Jacques want to retreat to a better place, he was a pilot for the Union. This, these types of relationships weren't good..right?

Whatever, full speed ahead right? So, Florus St-Jacques would have to sheepishly admit this to Josephine.

"I think I might need help ordering something. You have all the class, and I mostly eat on the ship.."

"Likewise, Mr. Nagal," She said, flashing a smile, "I didn't know that Ensign St-Jacques was so well prepared for the evening."

Her eyes found his, brow rising cheekily at the prickly jab, she wasn't going to make it too easy for him, was she? Josephine did, however, like the view of the kitchen as they were lead to their seats, and tilted her head in... was she impressed? When Florus pulled out her chair for her. She half expected him to run it out too far like a naughty child at the very end and have her fall unceremoniously on her ass.

That didn't happen.

She waited until Florus seated himself before she spoke again, a little embarrassed, she brushed a lock of hair behind her ear nervously, "Wow," She said, cursing herself for the slight tremble in her voice, "I didn't think... I mean, it's really nice here."

Florus spoke the last word slowly, making sure it came when Josephine was looking at him. Rich with innuendo, even as his grey eyes held a distanced look to them. Florus wanted to curl his mouth into a frown at the moment, and wanted to leave, but he'd see this through. Was already here, so why not?
As the doors parted, notable first was the soft, warm lighting mingling against the rich wooden floor. At least it bared the look, sound and feel under a foot of wood. To the left was a long, U-Shaped seat. A book and a few scattered papers, one of them a printed newspaper, a rarity on the moon and a few men sat around, enjoying drinks from round, deep glasses. On the right side, sitting on a tall stool sat a man. Shoulders hunched forward, a guitar setting across his lap. A wide brimmed hat was pulled low on his forehead, the caramel skinned face largely hidden save for a wide, toothy grin. "Hola.."

Clasped in his hands was a guitar, fingers working as he briefly looked up towards the couple, once at Florus before turning to Josephine. Perhaps it was the light, but for a moment his eyes seemed to glimmer. Cascading and glowing, he shifted his grin, a far more devious once on his mouth as he began to play, slowly the sounds of Lágrima. However, after a few moments, around an unseen corner came the man Florus St-Jacques previously spoke of. Even though he just touched 50, he barely looked like he passed his 31st birthday. Thankful to his coordinator genes, he was tall and lean and his tailored suit hung to slender shoulders as a long hand was extended first to Florus. "Florus! I was surprised when you called. Have a table ready for you two downstairs, and is this her?"

Florus St-Jacques offered his best, albeit fake, smile as he offered he clasped his right into the man's left to give it a firm shake. "Steffen Nagal, this is Josephine Eberhart." Motioning with his left hand, Florus introduced her to the older male, who offered her his widest smile. "Ah, the pleasure is all mine, Ms. Eberhart. So why don't you two follow me? I found the perfect bottle of red wine for you..I think you'll like it."

At least from the look of the opening, it looked small, until one walked around the corner and down the stairs. It opened up into a much larger space, twice the size of the floor above, and thanks to a choice in lighting, tiling and walls, looked huge. Recessed lighting dotted the isle ways, but it was mainly hanging pendants over a section of booths Steffen was walking towards. The man wanted it to all be very warm, and inviting, the walls adorned with black and white all the way around the room as he finally stopped in front of a table for two. An easy eye sight line was presented to the kitchen across the floor as Florus stepped to a chair and pulled it out for Josephine.

Always the gentleman right?

"Is it mockery, though?" She asked, before blue eyes found him, "You did help win an important victory..."

She was cut off by his announcement, and, with a look that almost bordered impress when he opened the door for her, stepped out into the chilly night, rubbing her forearms gingerly against the breeze. She stepped forward, preparring to enter the establishment with more than a little trepidation-- suddenly the feeling of this date became even more real for her. Still, his last comment provoked a laugh from her. Sweet and soft.

"You want me to order?" She laughed softly, "But I don't even know what the food's like here." she paused then, when her eyes found his face, suddenly subdued, and looked away from his face then, "I... wouldn't mind, if you want me to."

Florus frowned at the corner of his mouth as he shifted in his seat, a hand width of distance between them. Felt like a mile in his mind, but he'd note this uncomfortable, deflated feeling and save it for when he'd need it. Need it to stir himself into anger, but, that's for a different time and place. "You know, I don't consider myself anything special, not a hero like I've been mockingly called." That was a minor annoyance, enough to rustle skin and get his blood rushing, but Florus was too indifferent to do anything about it.

"Here it is." He saw a little ramen shop and knew they were there. Even before the car began to slow down before pulling over to the curb. Once it stopped, Florus opened his door and stepped out quick enough, however, he did come around to Josephine's side of the car and opened the door. Waiting as those grey eyes watched the woman carefully to exit the automobile before the door was closed behind her with a solid thunk.
Even as Florus buttoned up his suit, a single button he'd walk beside Josephine, although a step or two behind her. Much like with the door, Florus St-Jacques would open the door and give a light smile to Josephine. He did have some manners after all, didn't he?

"After you, but I do have to admit..not quite so good at picking out food. So I might need some help, if you don't mind?"

Still, she did agree to this date and she did want to go-- to have fun. The sisters had not been afforded much of that since joining the military, let alone since arriving to the moon. And while vexing, Florus didn't seem like a bad person. She needed it, the escape. The wine at least. A blush flushed the skin at her neck as he spoke, and she shook her head with more timidity than she was used to.

"You keep saying things like that..." She breathed, before blue eyes found his, and she worried her lip softly, "Where exactly... did you say this place was, again?"

She stared at him for a long time, taking him in. He was indeed a war hero, and some part of her was in a state of disbelief that she was even sharing a car with such a person at all. If the night passed and she woke up still at Side 3, that would be more normal, wouldn't it?

Ritter nodded as he slowly passed back the holographic display, a smile slowly cracking in the corner of his mouth as he did so.

"Fantastic, simply fantastic." He began, the excitement of finally witnessing these machines that utilize Photon technology distracting him from everything that had transpired. "These all look like fine Mobile Suits. I'll have my people arrange to receive them as early as we can. If I'm as happy with the results as I think I will be, then the Union will contact your people about securing some kind of contract for more machines."

He took a moment to pause with another swig of his drink, before extending a hand outward for another firm shake. A contract was only final with a handshake.

Still, what was happening made the man clench his jaw and briefly his eyes turned to that apparatus before back towards where the mobile suit had gone. Florus would have to deal with it later, the unknown pilot had to die. There was no option about it, sure, he could try to cut it apart and capture the pilot, but death? It was the easier option. "Now, where did you go?" Soft puffs of blue flame brought the Sword Calamity around as Florus St-Jacques grey eyes scanned the area, looking for something, anything out of place.

However, there was easier ways to draw him out into the open and it made Florus St-Jacques smile widely. As the feet of the Sword Calamity touched down, it's thrusters came to life brightly. Propelling the suit upwards towards that unknown, strange apparatus quickly as the mobile suit gripped it's anti-ship swords together as Sword Calamity rotated over onto it's back. Aiming to cut directly through that extending ramp as Florus St-Jacques figured the best way to draw out his prey, was to simply damage this thing. After all, it was why the suit was running away from him..wasn't it? A bid to buy time?

Still, something seemed off, seemed wrong. Like that twisting knot in the pit of his stomach, Florus St-Jacques couldn't figure that out..and it was driving him mad.

"Yes... It was all over the news." He said, with what seemed to be more than just simple corporate politeness.

"I'm sorry for your loss."

If he meant to opine further, he stopped himself as Ritter swiftly changed the topic, allowing himself to be carried along by the man's understandable desire to put his grief aside for the time being.

"Yes, of course." He responded, fishing in his pocket to produce the flat-screened personal communicator from before. "We were delighted to receive your request... Our engineering team appreciates a challenge."

After making a couple of taps against its surface, he placed it on the table between them. With a faint chime, it projected a hologram between the two of them - a plane of sorts, expanding out into a square about one and a half feet in diameter. On it, several figures rose, filing in one at a time as their models flickered into being.

Each had a similar stature - thick blocky shoulder pads and steep, angular shields at the knees, giving an impression of bulk. One by one, small red lights - monoeyes - lit up under domed heads. Each had shouldered menacing looking rifle, and stood at rapt attention, totaling in ten - but it was the figure at the front that stood out most. Its armor was jet black and riddled with ornate curves, its helmet terminating in a dark tower that easily indicated it as a command unit. No standard monoeye looked back at Ritter from under a single, high performance camera unit, but an almost Gundam-like fierce visage, crafted with what must have been incredible care. It steepled its hands over the butt of a menacing looking shotgun, its light-crafted barrel pointing down towards the table.

"I'm confident you'll be satisfied with the results." Said Outis, leaning back slightly as he did, indicating for Ritter to feel free to touch as he did,

"That one at the front in particular was crafted to your specifications... We like to call it the Kabakali."

Ritter watched Outis through his drunken haze. Trying his best to piece together just what kind of man the Hyperlight Corporation had decided for him to meet. His train of thought was quickly interrupted by his new associate.

Ritter paused to collect his thoughts before answering Outis. His hand reached for the glass again as Ritter took a swig before setting it back down on the table. He stared at his reflection in the glass as it stared right back at him. How do you tell somebody you feel broken?

Taking another drag of his cigarette, Ritter stabbed it into the ashtray in a an explosion of sparks and ash. The butt crumpling under the pressure, just as he felt he was doing now.

"Sorry." He began as he took another moment to collect himself. "The loss of our beloved Chancellor has a lot of people grieving. Including myself."

Ritter took another swig of his drink, finishing it off as the memories of that day went through his mind once more. He eagerly went to change the subject.

"That's a major reason I'm meeting you here today. The Union is very interested in your new reactor technology, and my interest in particular is piqued."

Deflated. Whatever.

Florus shifted his grey eyes to the side before finally turning back to Josephine. Those pupils watching her lips, and only that, even as his hands slipped along her thighs before curling up her back. Moving slowly with spread fingers, his big hands enjoying the feeling of her dress under them with another sigh. "We'll see, won't we? For now, a little dinner and wine, then some dancing." Finally those eyes were turned away, looking out the window as his hand drifted lower. Past the small of her back before it finally settled with a slight squeeze of his hand.

After he realized what he did, Florus dropped his hand to his side before frowning at the corner of his mouth. The trembling legs didn't go unnoticed, and Florus thought she wanted him to continue, so he'd stop. Still, he wanted to kiss her again, and gaed at Josephine. Eyes gleaming with his desire, as did all parts of him, to be with her. Still, it was a date. So Florus relaxed in his seat and simply watched the woman's face.
"You know everybody is going to stare yeah? Only because they're jealous of how beautiful you look."

God, that sounded so stupid.

The man reached out and shook Ritter's hand. His grip was firm, and his gaze steady... But there seemed to be a kind of emptiness to it, a lack of actual muscle behind the motion of the arm, an uncanny listlessness. He took the seat as gestured to by Ritter, pulling himself up. To a waitress, he gave a murmured drink order, dropping his voice, beyond what Ritter, in his current state, would have been able to decipher. As she left, he straightened and regarded the man himself, folding his arms on the table.

"We were expecting you earlier. I was... concerned."

He gave what he hoped was a sympathetic smile, yet seemed clearly intimidated being in the presence of one such as Ritter. Nevertheless, he pressed onward, asking earnestly:

"Is... everything alright?"
