Garr is a lean man with a well-toned body from a little over a quarter-century of Mobile Suit pilot physical conditioning regimens. He takes care to ensure he’s not overly pale from a lack of sunlight, but couldn’t be considered tanned at all. One would be hard-pressed to call him overly handsome in overall appearance but he is far from the social standard of ‘ugly’.

Garr’s attire consists mostly of loose-fitting clothes in neutral colors; most often varying shades of gray (his favorite color). He also owns a small number of business-style suits in pinstripe. His most distinctive bit of attire; however; would be his black cloth choker across his throat scar. Before the Cataclysm this was silk but since the collision of worlds he’s changed it to simple black cotton.

He chooses to wear a full pilot flight suit in both the cockpit and while doing things in space. As a former Chancellor for the long-vanished Neo Terra Firma Republic Garr uses a slightly up-armored version of the standard Maxwellian Intifada pilot suit in their colors.

Personal Information:

Garr has lived with his now-infamous throat scar since the age of twelve. It stemmed from an incident where he got caught up in a robbery gone wrong in an ice cream store, and though he survived the grisly wound it has plagued him for the vast majority of his life. His voice is best described as ‘slightly growling’, and he cannot speak above a normal conversational volume without causing the wound to act up and cause him to cough up blood as well as becoming temporarily mute from the pain.

He awoke as a Newtype on Earth shortly into his career as a pilot. Garr has been noted as being abnormally empathy-poor when it comes to his psychowave “pressure” detection. His spatial awareness and danger-related precognition are almost a full sense unto themselves, and he has trained himself to utilize his pressure in a sort of defensive ‘cloak’ to help ward off psychic attacks from his fellow Newtypes (to varying degrees of success). When controlling remote weaponry, Garr eschews the standard practice of long-range attack in favor of using remotes as supplementary attack tools in mid-to-close range combat against his opponents. The level of fine control he has with remotes is easily his best ability as a Newtype; outstripping even his paranoia-enhanced precognition. He has also developed an ultrashort-ranged telepathic ability with his fellow Newtypes though he chiefly uses this to speak with Hanmyo Starwind when he wants to say something privately in a room full of people.

Garr is a blunt individual. He has a strong desire for straight-forward conversations, and if he does possess tact he rarely chooses to employ it in public.

Unbeknownst to even most people who know him, Garr is an avid designer of Mobile Suits. Over his quarter-century career of piloting he has either used or encountered almost every type of equipment, system, and weapon ever created for Mobile Weapon combat. Over the years he has designed multiple Suits for his own personal use and is always on the lookout for new technologies and ways to apply them. His design tastes tend to favor a rounded arsenal of solid and beam weaponry in both projectile and melee varieties and has been developing a taste for well-armored designs; which is clearly influenced by the design of the GP-02A.

Biography:
Garr Shyver’s life before he became a part of the Terra Firma Republic’s pilot corps bore little of note, save his fateful encounter with a robbery gone wrong in his youth which left him scarred for life. He served as a pilot with quiet distinction, always ready to do his duty and quickly earning the right to use prototype units and engage in out-ranging patrols. When the Terra Firma Republic suffered it’s schism into two main camps - the ruthless Black Guard and the Maxwellian Intifada who opposed them - Garr sided with the Intifada. He rose a bit further in the ranks, even taking the battlefield alongside legends of the time and those who supported them.
When the fighting between the Guard and Intifada reached a colder state, he encountered Alfimi Elwren - future and later current leader of the Black Guard - and the two almost instantly developed an antagonistic relationship. The rhythms of war in the Solar Era played out like a song on repeat, with only a few errant notes to change the tempo here and there… Until he came.
With the coming of the Jovian Sentradas and his upsetting of the balance of power in the Earth Sphere, Garr was soon swept up in the flow of events that saw the reunification of the Maxwellian Intifada and original Black Guard into the Neo Terra Firma Republic. The situation continued in hellish whirlwind motions and ultimately Garr found himself in control of the whole thing for a short time right before the end; with the arrest of the Chancellor Alfimi Elwren and the subsequent abandonment of his post by the Intifada’s namesake Francis Maxwell. Having no preparation and no ability to command a whole nation, Garr ultimately failed to keep things together and the fracturing was well underway when the Cataclysm hit. Escaping under it’s pure chaos, he travelled to the Moon and rescued the woman who would eventually become his wife Hanmyo Starwind from her metallic grave.
The next twenty or so years were filled with adventure, profit, and Garr growing a touch more paranoid year after year. A new government arose on Earth from the ashes, but Garr had decided he'd had enough of being in such a power structure. It had almost killed him once, after all…
Old faces started coming up in recent years. Alfimi Elwren - under the guise of Sara Janovsky - approached him trying to draw him into her plans, but he rebuffed her. Sentradas seemingly resurfaced wrapped in a spike-drenched monster in the Yatagarasu, prodding him to try and fix the situation that the Earth Sphere found itself in still. Seeking to distance himself from the two bits of his past he least wanted to interact with once more, he found himself in space once again. There he took up work with Lance Screamer, an old Space Frontier Republic figure who was now part of the Frontier Commonwealth’s leading hierarchy. Now, he finds himself figuring out how to deal with his ghosts and how to provide for his family; though he knows it’ll be hard with so much that could still go wrong in the post-Cataclysm world.

Combat Style: Cautious
In battle, Garr could best be described as 'jack of all trades, master of none.' His fighting style tends towards cautious approaches to opponents while using a variety of solid and energy projectile and melee weapons. He has shown absolutely no hesitation to retreat if he feels a fight is without a reasonable chance of victory on his part. When given a noted advantage, however, he has been known to deploy completely uncalled for levels of firepower on targets that he can reach. He tends towards overkill on opponents if he can; unless he needs something from them for his own needs.
When utilizing remote weaponry, Garr is strongly documented to be more comfortable with controlling a relative handful of them with frightening precision rather than a giant overwhelming swarm like his beloved Hanmyo Starwind. He hasn’t engaged much in BVR (beyond visual range) attacks with remote weapons but given his focus on quality of control he could be a real monster if he didn’t choose to keep such weapons within mid-range for Suit-to-Suit combat. Generally, he chooses to use them as support tools for advances and overwhelming an opponent rather than as a primary means of assault.

Marimeia Brandford is a lithe figure. While healthy she has lived on Mars and it’s lower gravity for her entire life; which has combined with her not-too-rich diet as a refugee and member of the Martian Resistance to keep her thin in appearance. She has cobalt blue eyes and long brown hair are largely non-descript in their generic nature, though she wears her hair in a large sidetail on the left side of her head.

She has a cross hatching series of scars tracing up her spine from surgery to repair her back after she got hurt helping to foil a raid by the Reinvented in her youth.

Her right arm up to the elbow is a Martian cybernetic replacement after an injury in combat. It’s design is slick curves and a sealed design to prevent detritus, water, and the dreaded Martial dust from gumming up the works. Her left eye is also a cybernetic replacement, but there is no scarring or abnormalities to its appearance to indicate it.

She prefers uniform-style clothing (practically her entire small wardrobe), and has a standard design pilot flight suit for combat. Marimeia has been noted to wear ballistics-resistant body armor when engaged in a ground assault.

Personal Information:

Marimeia has been an Innovator for several years now. Near daily exposure to a true GN Drive’s particles triggered the transformation in her genes. She has met the associated changes with a bare minimum of interest; as they have neither hurt nor significantly helped her in any way to date.

She owns a standard size Haro painted in lavender who answers to the name “Selene”. It was given to her at the same time she was assigned to her Gundam, and it serves as her co-pilot by taking maneuvering controls while she focuses on her aim. Selene is usually found by Marimeia’s side and could be considered one of her two friends (the other being Vert).

Marimeia is a cyborg. Her right arm to the forearm and her left eye are both Martian-style prosthetics. The arm has a stronger grip force than it’s fleshy counterpart and is equipped with a two-ton test grapple wire/magnetic grapple tip combination and a one-ton rated retraction motor. The eye is equipped with optional thermographic and telescopic modes.

She utterly hates being a cyborg. It has a dehumanizing effect for the non-Reinvented survivors of Mars and it treated as a massive social stigma. She suffers from a typical amount of Body Loss Shock Syndrome and requires Martian-manufactured anti-rejection drugs to keep her body from suffering ill effects. Marimeia has openly stated on multiple occasions that she will remove the “taint” from her flesh the moment the Reinvented are finally defeated, even going so far as to inflict grievous - if not outright fatal - harm to herself in order to do so.

The Green One Vert is a stabilizing influence on Marimeia. The two have over their time together fallen into an older/younger sister-like bond, with the socially-inept and naive Marimeia as the younger ‘sibling’.

Biography:
For as long as she could remember, Marimeia has been a woman on the run. Born almost a year after the Cataclysm that rocked the solar system her parents had been part of the great refugee waves that had shuffled from hiding place to hiding place ahead of the flames of the Reinvented's Crusade. Through it all, she developed a sense for those around her that couldn't quite be called Newtype in nature…
One memorable moment in her young life is how she managed to save one of the groups of refugees she grew up around from an infiltration unit of the less visibly-augmented Reinvented. Somehow, she had just known there was something wrong and raised the alarm; only to get thrown sideways into a countertop for her trouble. Once the infiltrators were dealt with, Marimeia was found to have several cracked vertebrae from the impact. The surgery left her back scarred, and a smouldering hatred in her heart for the Machine Men of Mars.
Having managed to reach the age of being able to join the Resistance's military forces, Marimeia quickly displayed a frightening aptitude for Mobile Suits. Her rapid ascent in the ranks of the precious pilots of Mars' masses was almost shot down when during a raid on a Reinvented position she received damage to her Mobile Suit that caused part of her cockpit to explode. Barely managing to keep up, she'd lost both her left eye and right forearm to her foes... Then the unthinkable happened to her.
Seeing little alternative to having one of their greatest pilots out of the desperate fight, she once more underwent surgery. When she awoke, Marimeia was horrified to learn she had essentially become what she considered the enemy: a cyborg. It took almost half a year to get her to come back to the front, but once she'd accepted that she was as she was now Marimeia was intent on becoming an ungodly terror to those who worshipped some twisted version of human evolution.
Seeing her new-found resolve, Marimeia Brandford was given one of the rarest things among the Resistance: a Gundam. Her path laid before her, and she swore she'd see Humanity reclaim the surface and put an end to the fear she'd had to live around all her life.
Along the way she met and fought alongside Virgil Vice Veran and the Green One Feld. She was sent to Earth once the Central Earth Union began seeing to the bolstering of the Martian Resistance and is now undergoing training and even a form of rehabilitation to acclimate her to life outside of the Red Planet.

Combat Style: Sniper
Marimeia’s whole battle strategy relies on her training as a sniper and the use of related long-range weapons. Her melee skills are notably sub-par due to pretty much her whole career being against a predictable enemy she could easily outmaneuver in her Gundam. She has great reserves of patience once behind the sights of a gun, and will aim her weapons to inflict maximum damage per shot whenever she can.
